A Night of Music and Visuals in Lagoa
On November 2, 2024, The Svetlana Bakushina Fusion Project performed at the Auditório Municipal de Lagoa, also known as Auditório Carlos do Carmo. The concert was supported by the Municipality of Lagoa and Antena 2. It was one of the most intense performances in the group’s history, both in sound and energy.
A Powerful Vocal Duo
Two guest vocalists gave the evening a unique character. Michele Tomaz, a Brazilian soprano, brought elegance with her classical voice. In contrast, Katherine Valenzuela added deep emotion with her soulful singing. Their different styles created a striking balance between precision and passion.
A Fusion of Musical Influences
The concert also featured Diego González, a Chilean trumpet player, music producer, and DJ based in Lisbon. He was once part of Newen Afrobeat, performing at major festivals worldwide. Now, he blends hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music to create fresh and dynamic sounds.
Music Meets Visual Art
The performance was not only about sound. Anastasia Maystrenko, a visual artist and animator, designed video projections that turned the stage into a moving canvas. Her work combines frame-by-frame animation with experiments in light and texture. She has collaborated with electronic musicians and classical composers, bringing a unique artistic touch to live performances.
A Concert That Pushed Boundaries
With its heavy sound, vivid visuals, and mix of musical styles, this concert went beyond the group’s usual approach.
