ABOUT THE PROJECT
Known for captivating audiences with sold-out performances across the Algarve, the group delivers original compositions in a world music fusion style, blending jazz, classical, ethnic, and progressive rock influences. Drawing inspiration from the folk traditions of various cultures, their music creates fresh and engaging soundscapes. The pieces stand out for their rhythmic and harmonic complexity, enhanced by improvisational elements. At the heart of the project is Svetlana Bakushina, a pianist and composer, joined by seasoned musicians like Seibas Gamboa, acclaimed as the principal cellist, and drummer Jorge Carrilho. Together, they form a cohesive unit that defines the band’s distinctive sound. For this concert, talented performers from Brazil, Chile, Germany and Lithuania are invited, including soprano Michele Tomaz, trumpeter Diego Gonzalez, singer Katherina Valenzuela, and visual artist Anastasia Maystrenko. For the concert in Faro Marc Mennigmann will join the group on the modular synthesiser.
