“Father Andzhey” is a short film created as part of the theatre production Loneliness in the Net by Janusz Leon Wiśniewski. Directed by Henryk Baranowski and filmed by Svetlana Bakushina, the film follows a Catholic priest who finds solace in his work while wrestling with personal demons. Originally made to be projected during the stage performances at the St. Petersburg theatre festival “Baltic House,” it adds a powerful emotional layer to the world of Wiśniewski’s play. Since premiering alongside Loneliness in the Net in 2009, the film continued to resonate with audiences for another 10 years, while the play remained in the permanent repertoire of the theater.
